Bike Jam encourages healthy lifestyle
Faculty, staff and students gathered on El Pomar Plaza Sept. 2 for a day of biking activities, prizes, vendors, giveaways and free food to celebrate Bike Jam, an annual UCCS event to encourages alternate methods of transportation, specifically bicycles, for the purpose of living more healthy and sustainable lives. First fall Café Scientifique to explore gravity’s influence
At the Sept. 8 Café Scientifique, David Klaus, professor and associate chair for undergraduate studies, Aerospace Engineering Sciences, CU-Boulder will discuss how astronauts orbiting Earth offers a unique environment to study physiological and psychological effects of gravity, and the lack thereof. UCCS Police thwart bicycle thieves, provide theft prevention tips
Following a string of bike thefts that plagued campus during the summer session, the UCCS Police Department recently arrested two suspects and recovered a number of bikes thanks to old fashioned detective work. (More)

Mountain Lion Rally to kick off academic year
UCCS faculty and staff will welcome new students to campus at the inaugural Mountain Lion Rally Aug. 19. The event will replace Convocation in officially kicking off the 2015-2016 academic year. (More)
Fall forum scheduled shared
The Office of the Chancellor will sponsor five all-campus forums during the fall semesters. All faculty and staff are invited to attend forums. In addition to short presentations about events affecting the campus, the forums provide an opportunity to ask questions. (More)
Out with the old, in with the new: Library drops VPN in favor of proxy access
On June 15, the Kramer Family Library launched a new proxy server to allow faculty, staff and students to use their UCCS username and password to access library databases, eBooks, online journals, and streaming videos from off campus. (More)
