Faculty, staff and students gathered on El Pomar Plaza Sept. 2 for a day of biking activities, prizes, vendors, giveaways and free food to celebrate Bike Jam, an annual UCCS event to encourage alternate methods of transportation, specifically bicycles, for the purpose of living a more healthy life.
Participants enjoyed a bike ride across campus, learned to fix a flat tire and took a tour of the campus mountain biking trails.
The event is part of Bike Month and Pedal Perks, a year-long program to provide incentives to campus members who ride bicycles, and sponsored by: the S.O.L.E. Center, Sustainable Transportation from Department of Parking and Transportation, Bicycle Advisory Board, Bike Month Committee, Disability Services, and the Office of Sustainability.
