What’s open, what’s closed during the winter break

As students return home for the period between the fall and spring semesters, various areas at UCCS will have adjusted hours of operation between Dec. 15 and Jan. 21.

The UCCS campus will be closed Dec. 24-25, Dec. 28-Jan. 1 and Jan. 21. However, as outlined below, certain buildings may be open on one or some of those days for events or other services.

Police
UCCS Police provides services and protection 24 hours a day, seven days a week, even when campus is closed for holidays. Call (719) 255-3111 for assistance.

Dining outlets
All dining facilities will have modified schedules during the break period.

  • Sanatorium Grounds will be open 7:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on weekdays at the University Center location when campus is open, and will serve paninis and soup throughout break. The locations in Columbine Hall, Dwire Hall and University Hall will be closed until Jan. 22. Pinney’s Cafe will be open only during events.
  • Clyde’s will close early on weekdays during the winter break, and will be closed all day on weekends and between Dec. 22-Jan. 1.
  • Alpine Express will be reopen Jan. 16.
  • Roaring Fork Dining Hall will reopen Jan. 20.
  • The Lodge and Cafe 65 will reopen Jan. 22 for the start of the spring semester.

University Center
When campus is open, the UC will be open 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays., and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. The UC will be closed Sundays during break.

The Gallogly Events Center will be open during basketball games, which will result in extended hours on those days. Visit gomountainlions.com for those home dates and times.

Ent Center for the Arts
When campus is open, the Ent Center will be open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and will be closed Saturdays and Sundays. If there are performances on the weekend or after 7 p.m., the Ent Center will open one hour before the start and during the performance. Check uccspresents.org for events during the winter break. The box office will maintain normal hours when the building is open.

Kraemer Family Library and Office of Information Technology
The library and OIT will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the days campus is open through Jan. 1. Both will resume normal hours Jan. 2. The library will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 21.

End-of-year gift donations
University Development will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 31 to accept end-of-year gift donations. Staff will be in the lobby of the Lane Center for Academic Health Sciences to accept and process in-person gifts.

UCCS Bookstore
The bookstore will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays when campus is open. The bookstore will be open Jan. 21 (when the rest of campus is closed for the Martin Luther King, Jr., observance) for students preparing for the spring semester.

Gallogly Recreation and Wellness Center
The recreation center will be closed Dec. 22-Jan. 1 for scheduled maintenance. Otherwise, when campus is open, the recreation center and Alpine Field will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays. The aquatic center will be open from 6-8 a.m., from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and 4-7 p.m. on weekdays, and from 1-5 p.m. on weekends. The S.O.L.E. / Outdoor Center will be closed during winter break, with rentals and waxing by appointment only.

The wellness center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day when the campus is open.

All other offices and services
Unless specified, all other campus offices and services will have normal business hours when campus is open.
