Photo feature: 9/11 remembered

IMG_9331CU Board of Regents Chairman Kyle Hybl led a moment of silence in memory of lives lost during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and subsequent military actions during a Friday morning ceremony near the campus 9/11 artifact.

Hybl was joined at the podium by Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak and Ed Anderson, executive director of strategic military, science, space and security initiatives, Office of the Chancellor. Anderson encouraged those in attendance to “never forget” the events of 9/11 before explaining the history of the UCCS student-designed 9/11 artifact display.

The Mountain Ranger Battalion of UCCS Army ROTC opened and closed a 9/11 remembrance ceremony by posting and retiring the flags of the United States and Colorado. Pictured are Cadet Keegan McGonagle (rifle), Cadet Jenna Hardy (rifle), Cadet Noye Lorona (us flag), and Cadet Matt Lunger (Colorado flag).
