Still time to join 2030 Strategic Plan working groups

As work on the 2030 Strategic Plan continues, there are still opportunities for faculty, staff and students to join one of the seven core strategy workgroups.

A number of faculty, staff and students are identifying initiatives, outcomes, priorities and measures of success within the core strategies (referred to as themes before) outlined in the March 11 town hall sessions. The new core strategies are under the working titles of:

  • Cultivate excellence in research and creative works
  • Sustainable enrollment
  • Engagement and inclusive belonging
  • Optimization of resources and capabilities
  • Intentional revenue viability
  • Innovative programs of distinction
  • University partnerships and outreach.

The groups started with the information provided by participant notes during the March town hall sessions and the group leaders will meet with the Cabinet and deans June 25.

While the workgroups have already started their work, the groups continue to welcome new members. Those interested should reach out to the workgroup leaders found on the Strategic Plan website. Most groups are meeting virtually through Microsoft Teams to continue progress during the summer.

“I appreciate the commitment of those who have already dedicated time and energy to our shared future,” said Chancellor Venkat Reddy in a message to campus. “Your success is our success, and the voices that everyone brings to the process will help shape the university we envision in the next decade.”

Teams will continue to meet throughout the summer and start to assemble timelines for action in early fall ahead of the final presentation to the Board of Regents in early 2020. Updates will be provided during the summer at uccs.edu/strategicplan and in summaries in the Communique.
