Convocation looks at results of individual actions

August 4, 2011

An opening convocation ceremony featuring Tom Huber, professor, Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, kicks off the UCCS 2011-12 academic year at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 17.

Huber, a president’s teaching scholar, will address a crowd of mainly freshman students in the Gallogly Events Center. He will speak about the power of individual action and how the results from this can have impacts beyond the original act. (More)

UCCS representatives to meet at White House

Two UCCS representatives will travel to the White House this week to meet with officials in the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

On Aug. 3, Peg Bacon, provost, and Jeff Scholes, instructor, Department of Philosophy, will discuss UCCS involvement with President Barack Obama’s Interfaith and Community Service Campus Challenge for the upcoming academic year. (More)
