Dan Wilkerson, former University of Colorado vice president, university counsel and secretary of the CU Board of Regents, will assist UCCS and the Office of University Counsel by handling campus legal issues on an interim basis. Norman Bender, a founding member of the Department of History, died Feb. 15 in Colorado Springs. He was 85. Survivors include his wife, Eugenia; a son, Norman C.; a daughter, Elizabeth C. Jim Rynning, a retired U.S. Air Force colonel who was active in Curiosity Unlimited and who is believed to be the oldest person to complete courses at UCCS, died Feb. 17. He was 92.
