To: Jeff Reed, Rick Landis, Rob McGann, Tony Rago, Marcus Davis, and the Facilities Services Team
From: Aaron

Jeff, Rick, Rob, Tony, Marcus and their teams continually go above and beyond supporting our campus with their daily services and support, and particularly during winter weather, coming in early and staying late to ensure our campus parking, drives, walkways, and buildings are clear, operational, and safe for the campus community and continued operations. Their leadership and teams’ hard work in inclement weather and rough conditions enable the entire campus to safely continue our mission!

To: Office of the Dean of Students
From: Anon.

The Dean of Students Office has gone above and beyond this Fall by piloting a new outreach program that has students who are requesting a full withdraw go through DOS first. This new program resulted in dozens of students staying at UCCS who may not have otherwise and countless additional students getting connected to financial aid, mental health, and other resources they needed. Thank you to your team for all the ways you care for and support students!

To: OIT Service Desk
From: Anon.

The OIT department has been so helpful every time I have a question or need help with something! I’m so grateful for their expertise and support.

To: Registrar’s Office

Thank you for moving the “Courses” tab up higher in the Academic Catalog. This may seem like a small change, but it has been a huge time-saver in my work to not have to scroll down and look for this tab each time I need it. Your team is constantly thinking of ways to make our work on campus smoother. Thank you!

To: Ann Amicucci
From: Anon.

Ann is one of the best leaders I have had the pleasure of working with. I feel that she consistently goes above and beyond to secure what’s best for all those she leads. She has taught me about empathy in an academic setting and it has made me a better teacher and better person for it.

To: Christina Montoya
From: Anon.

A giant KUDOS to Christina Montoya in the bursars office.  Christina was so kind and patient with one of my GPS students who was losing sleep over her UCCS Bill.  Christina jumped on a Teams Call with the student and set her mind to rest.  So much so, the student was crying after the call about how nice and kind Christina was to her.  Way to keep to the mission of UCCS Christina.

To: Cindy Rupp
From: Beth Graham

Cindy is a gem and I love having her on the team! She is helpful and supportive always :)

To: Dr. Kylie Swanson
From: Lawless

Dr. Kylie Swanson has truly been such a fabulous coworker! Her unwavering support has made my job sooo much more manageable! Just the other day, and in less than 5 seconds, she shared a resource with me that literally saved me over 5 hours. I cannot express enough how grateful I am for her! Not only have I found a helpful colleague, but I have found a friend!

To: Jesse Perez
From: Anon.

He deserves a shout out! He is always willing to write recommendation letters, nominate staff for awards and drop anything to help out. He is currently serving on two searches, working to complete his PhD and running the Languages & Cultures Center with innovative ideas for engaging and supporting campus! Just wanted to make sure he received some recognition for all of the hard work he’s doing. It’s noticed!

To: Krista Duffy
From: Zoe Hyatt

Krista stepped into the role of OIT Director of Applications when the team was facing some setbacks and lacked unity. She brought a sense of community to our team while demonstrating immense care in all aspects as she made that transition. As a member of her team, I feel heard and seen – and she always steps up and helps when we need her to, going above and beyond. I would like to thank her for being a great leader and for elevating the apps team at a time when we really needed it. I feel fully supported by her and am very happy to have her leading our team! Thank you, Krista!

To: Lindsey Knell
From: Cathy Simmons

The Department of Social Work is short staffed this semester.  Lindsay Knell is assigned to two other programs in CPS.  Due to the short staffing, Lindsay is working beyond her normal duties to ensure the essential business service functions are complete.  Of note, she helped us update our fall 2023 schedule in a way that positively impacts student opportunities and improves learning.  Without Lindsay’s attention to detail and advocacy, the social work programs would not be able to function during this season.

To: Marshall Ferguson
From: Gretchen Bliss

Marshall has gone above and beyond helping the cybersecurity programs.  Marshall is always so organized and very thorough in his work.  Marshall is great to work with and absolute asset to UCCS.

To: Matt Balk
From: Ann Amicucci

Kudos to Matt Balk for starting the new Excel Centers newsletter, Excellence! It’s great to see updates of what all the centers are doing in one place and to have this way to celebrate the excellent work of the Excel Center teams.

To: Michaela Steen
From: Solveig Olsen

As Director of the VAPA Resource Center, Michaela goes above and beyond to help not only students, but faculty, with our marketing and website needs.

To: Mitchel, UCCS Help Desk
From: Beth Graham

I was in the middle of an important video project and suddenly out of space on my drive. I was a little panicked about finding a solution, quickly. He was patient and understanding. He answered all my questions, and probably multiple times. During the proces UPS arrived and he was, again, patient with the situation. I really appreciate his time and calm demeanor. It made all the difference in an already personally rough week with technology. Thank you so much, Mitchel!

To: Renee Cinkosky
From: Anon.

I would like to recognize Renee Cinkosky for always being willing to go above and beyond in answering questions, listening to students, and being an advocate for UCCS parking services.  Renee always serves with a smile.  KUDOS RENEE!!!!

To: Wendi Clouse
From: Patty Witkowsky

Wendi went above and beyond to assist with a grant project that she had no responsibility for. She helped with VERY short notice and did so graciously.

To: Wendi Clouse
From: Tamara Hudgins

Wendi stepped in to help with finding data that was needed for a grant proposal. We were at our wits’ end and even though it is not her job to help proposal writers and principal investigators find data for funding proposals, Wendi stepped in and expertly helped us. She made a proposal that was probably going to be declined (on the basis of no data available/accessible) to a good proposal that has a fighting chance. Thank you, Wendi!

To: Wendi Clouse
From: Jena McCollum

Wendi was remarkable in getting us critical data quickly for a proposal we submitted recently. She was both super helpful and gave us exactly what we needed! Thanks, Wendi!

To: Whitney Porter
From: Patty Witkowsky

Whitney is ALWAYS on top of things to help us submit grants and ensure nothing is missed! Her title should be changed to “Life Saver!”

To: Whitney Porter
From: Jena McCollum

Whitney is one of the best people I have worked with for proposal support. She is thorough and hard-working! I am so grateful to have her on our team! Thank you for all you do, Whitney!

To: Yvonne Weeres
From: Ellen Burkart

Yvonne has really stepped in to help our team while being down a staff member. From stopping by just to say hi and check in to supporting our search and always being willing to help where/when needed, Yvonne has gone above and beyond. Thank you, Yvonne. We appreciate you.

To: Yvonne Wu
From: Kelly Zuercher

Yvonne voluntarily helped me with setting up the piano labs new equipment last fall.  She often goes above and beyond to help her fellow colleagues and students.
