Instead of canoeing, swimming, crafts and other traditional summer camp activities, children ages six through eleven will have the opportunity to improve skills in math, science, reading and writing in a one week UCCS academic camp June 21-25.
Sponsored by the College of Education and called UCCS Youth University, the program is divided into groups for children ages six through eight and for children nine through eleven. Children can enroll in half-day sessions or for a full day and enjoy such courses as “Inside Newton’s Noggin,” “Discovering the Artist Within,” and “Bridges, Contraptions and Robots Oh My!”
“Youth University represents the College of Education and UCCS’s mission to provide high-quality community programs at all levels,” Carla Rupprecht, general professional, College of Education, said.
The program costs $95 for a morning or afternoon session or $175 for both sessions. Class sizes will range from 10 to 14 students and will be at Imagine Classical Academy at Indigo Ranch, 6464 Peterson Road.

Great stuff Tom. Kids need more activities like this. Especially nowadays. Thanks for sharing.
