Employees, mark your calendar for Open Enrollment, April 22 – May 10. This is the chance to keep, waive or enroll in medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance as well as savings plans. It’s important to learn about these plans and the options to effectively chart your plan.
Here’s what’s new:
- An increase in annual amount covered for prescriptions glasses frames and contact lenses and a decrease in vision exam costs
- More cavity treatment options for children on the CU’s dental plans
- An increase in out-of-pocket maximums for CU Health Plans – Extended, Exclusive and Kaiser

Satisfied with current benefits? You may not need to take any action
If you take no action, you will be automatically re-enrolled in your 2018-19 benefits for the new plan year. However, if you have a Health Care Flexible Spending Account or a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, you must re-enroll for plan year 2019-20.
Attend Open Enrollment workshops and sessions to learn more about benefits
- April 16 (UCCS session): Basics of CU Health Plans and Pre-tax Savings Options will help you understand and compare basic details of CU's medical, dental and vision plans, Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts.
- April 22: Open Enrollment begins at 8 a.m.
- April 30 (UCCS session): Open Enrollment Sessions and Vendor Fairs, hosted by Employee Services’ benefits professionals, allowing employees to learn more about upcoming plan changes and speak with benefits professionals and insurance providers.
- May 10: Open Enrollment ends at 5 p.m.
