A memorial service for Louis Cicotello will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Lodge on the UCCS campus.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of Louis Cicotello to the Wayne County Sheriffs Department Search and Rescue Team at 18 South Main Street, Loa, Utah, 84747.

Louis Martsolf Cicotello (born August 23, 1940) passed away unexpectedly March 6, 2011 while pursuing his love of hiking and canyoneering in Utah. Louis had great enthusiasm for every aspect of life whether it be teaching, cooking, fishing, creating, hiking and climbing, traveling, or engaging in conversation. Professor Cicotello was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and grew up in nearby Windber, Pennsylvania. He studied at Carnegie-Mellon University, Yale University and the Ecole des Beaux Arts L’Americaine in France. During a long and distinguished professional career, Professor Cicotello taught first at the University of Missouri at Kansas City for 17 years before moving in 1984 as Chair of the Art Department at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Professor Cicotello leaves behind his wife and soul mate of thirty-three years, Millie Yawn, his daughter Sarah, his son-in-law Christopher McQuary, and their daughter Olive McQuary. He is also survived by his brothers Carl, David, and Timothy Cicotello, an uncle, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as by many friends and colleagues. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011, 3 p.m., in the Lodge at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
