Chancellor Memo: Humbled and honored to serve

Dear Colleagues:

I am humbled to begin today as the UCCS interim chancellor after 25 years as a member of the faculty, as a dean and as an academic administrator.

I never dreamt I would have the opportunity to give back to UCCS, an institution that has given so much to me both personally and professionally. It is an honor to be a member of this faculty, of this campus community, and of the broader Pikes Peak region.

I look forward to continuing the momentum of UCCS and Chancellor Emerita Pam Shockley-Zalabak. I am committed to a culture of respect, safety and compassion and to upholding the university’s values of student focus, integration of research, teaching and creative work, innovation, collaboration, inclusive diversity and dynamic responsible growth.

While my title is interim chancellor, my responsibilities – and those of every other member of the campus community – are not.

We must continue to build on our values and our dedication to the public good in our quest to become the region’s preeminent university. Together, I know we can achieve our ambitions and much more.

I look forward to working with you in this new role and to continuing the momentum this university community built during the past five decades.

Respectfully,

Venkat Reddy, interim chancellor
