New activities for students and alumni, the largest-ever freshman class and a weekend of beautiful fall weather helped make UCCS Homecoming 2016 a memorable one.

Homecoming activities kicked off Oct. 13 with Chalk the Walk, in which student clubs and organizations decorated the spine near the West Lawn. The annual lighting of the U-C-C-S letters that night drew hundreds of students to the El Pomar Plaza for music, free food and games.

Oct. 14 featured the student march to Mountain Lion Stadium, tailgate, soccer games and bonfire.

This year, the Trek the Trail 5K run/walk to benefit scholarships for the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences  happened during Homecoming, on Oct. 15. The casino night and dance for students and alumni was that night.

UCCS Alumni Relations hosted several new events this year, including Wines & Vines, a campus shuttle tour and lunch at Clyde’s restaurant in the University Center.
