Flu-beating shots available on campus

flu-shot-web-headerAn estimated 35 to 50 million people will get the flu in 2017. A flu vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, doctors’ visits, and missed work and school due to flu, as well as prevent flu-related hospitalizations, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

From 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 19 and 1 p.m to 4 p.m. Oct. 21 in University Center 116, the Employee Services Department will sponsor flu shot clinics that are free to CU Health Plan users and covered family members. Those who are not members of CU Health Plans can get the vaccination for $28. For more information, visit https://www.cu.edu/employee-services/coming-soon/flu-shot-clinics

Additionally, the Wellness Center is walk-in flu vaccinations for $20. Appointments can be made by calling 255-4444. The HealthCircle Primary Care Clinic in the Lane Center for Academic Health Sciences is also an option. Please contact the clinic at 255-8001.
