Two UCCS graduate programs are recognized as national leaders in the 2017 edition of Best Graduate Schools from U.S. News.
The ranking samples were made available in advance by the publication. Full rankings will be available after March 16.
The two UCCS programs cited in advance editions are:
Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences
The doctorate of nursing practice degree program was ranked 70 among similar programs offered at public and private universities from across the country. The UCCS programs tied with programs at The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., the University of Portland, University of Michigan, Flint, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and Concordia University.
College of Business
The part-time MBA program was ranked 111 among similar programs offered at public and private universities from across the country. The UCCS program was tied with State University of New York, Oswego, and the University of Michigan, Dearborn.

CU Boulder
Number one nationally for atomic/molecular/optical physics. Other top programs include ceramics (5), environmental law (8), aerospace/aeronautical/astronautical engineering (8 education policy (10), clinical psychology (16), audiology (17), physics (18), earth sciences (23), chemistry (24), speech language pathology (24), School of Education (28), biological sciences (30), psychology (30), College of Engineering and Applied Science (33), computer science (40), Law School (40), mathematics (46) and Leeds School of Business (59 for part-time MBA schools).
CU Anschutz Medical Campus
The School of Medicine ranked highly in pediatrics (4), family medicine (5), rural medicine (6), primary care (11), and research (35).
The College of Nursing ranked highly in informatics (6), pediatric nurse practitioner (8), doctor of nursing practice (21) and nursing master’s degree (23).
Graduate School programs for physician assistant ranked fifth and physical therapy ranked 15.
Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The school ranked 22nd nationally for the doctor of pharmacy program.
CU Denver
Schools and programs ranking: health care management (23), School of Public Affairs (34), Department of Integrative Biology (Biological Sciences Ph.D. program) (75), the Business School’s part-time MBA program (89) and the School of Education and Human Development (99).
U.S. News’ rankings are based on two types of data: expert opinions about program quality, and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students. The publication aims to provide a tool to students and parents who are comparing college programs at accredited public and private universities in the United States.
