Internationalization and global education will be the focus of the March Chancellor Campus Forum scheduled for noon March 15 in University Center 302.
Mandy Hansen, director, Global Engagement Office, will offer an overview of internationalization at UCCS and highlight where the university is headed.
Other speakers will be:
- Emily Skop, director, Global Intercultural Research Center, an interdisciplinary UCCS unit that supports faculty-sponsored intercultural scholarship. Skop’s topic will be the center and its work.
- Inhan Kim, assistant professor, Department of Political Science. His areas of interest include international relations, security and organization. Kim will talk about collaborative efforts at UCCS.
- Kee Warner, associate vice chancellor for inclusion and academic engagement, Academic Affairs. Warner’s topic will be faculty-directed Africa program.
The forum also will include a “glocal and refugee conversation” as well as information from the Center for Human Security, School of Public Affairs. The center’s mission is to mobilize communities for the integrated and effective prevention, preparation and response to manmade and natural disaster disruption to human security through research, technical assistance and training.
After the presentations, there will be time for questions and discussion, Hansen said.
