Spring enrollment, credit hours increase by 2 percent

5-year enrollment growth chart More than 200 additional students enrolled at UCCS for the spring 2016 semester than a year ago, according to figures released Feb. 4.

A total of 10,735 students enrolled for the spring semester 2016, a 229 student or 2.18 percent increase from the 10,506 students who enrolled for spring semester 2015. Students enrolled in a total of 123,280 credit hours for spring 2016, a 2,421 hour or 2 percent increase from the 120,859 hours generated in spring 2015.

The official census date for the spring semester was Feb. 3. Figures were generated by the Office of Institutional Research.

“I am pleased more students are selecting UCCS for their education,” Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak said. “However, it is imperative that we, as faculty and staff members, do our very best to make their experience at UCCS positive, helping them to achieve their goal of graduating.”

Since spring 2012, student enrollment has increased by 1,742 students or 19 percent. There were 8,993 students who enrolled in 2012.
