Giving Tuesday 2022 sets record number for total donors

UCCS’s 7th annual Giving Tuesday celebration raised more than $90,000 from almost 400 donors. Since 2015, Giving Tuesday has brought in more than $750,000 to support scholarships and programs at UCCS.

The 2022 campaign brought in the highest number of donors ever participating in Giving Tuesday. The campus goal to earn the challenge match from AFCEA was 300 donors, and with the community’s support, UCCS easily achieved that goal.

All 18 featured funds received support, ensuring that UCCS students will face fewer barriers to success. Particularly noteworthy is that this year, donors raised double the amount in support of MOSAIC, showing the value our community places on creating a safe space for everyone at UCCS.

This was thanks in large part to alums Jessica and Richard Fierro, who hosted the UCCS community at their brewery for a happy hour in support of MOSAIC. Atrevida Brewing Co. was filled to capacity the entire evening. More than 300 pints were sold, with Atrevida and Ent Credit Union each contributing $1 per pint to MOSAIC. In addition to the money raised through beer sales, generous attendees donated another $500 to support MOSAIC.

“All in all, Giving Tuesday highlighted the incredible generosity of the Mountain Lion Community, who continue to show up year after year and demonstrate a remarkable commitment to UCCS students,” said Sara Daum, Annual Giving Engagement Program Director.

Designated as a global day to give back after the shopping holidays of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday encourages gifts of any size to organizations that make an impact in communities.
