Roar Daze event series offers movie theatre takeover, promises to bring students together

With spring break in the rearview mirror, students, faculty and staff are set to prepare for the waning days of the spring semester, including finals and commencement.

Before the spring semester gets too stressful, though, UCCS Student Life will host a series of events for students on campus and beyond.

“Roar Daze provides students with one more opportunity to engage and connect with other students in an entertaining manner,” said Stephen Cucchiara, director of student activities and community service. “This year, the main purpose is to bring students together one more time before the semesters start to tighten with preparations for finals, and allow more community building within the pandemic environment.”

Cucchiara hopes for good weather for the event series, which features a mix of new and old events, including one marquee takeover of a downtown movie theatre.

“We rented the entire Kimball’s Peak Three Theater just for UCCS students, and we’re showing ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ in a completely free event that comes with complimentary popcorn,” Cucchiara said.
