Things can get ruff around finals week, but UCCS students got a reminder that they’re doing a pawesome job from the K9 to 5 National Therapy Dog Registry.
On Thursday, Dec. 12, students gave belly rubs and got puppy kisses during a study break at the Kraemer Family Library. Seven certified therapy dogs and their handlers visited with students, with a goal of soothing pre-exam nerves and giving students an incentive to take a break for better retention of study material.
The event was the second in a series of three Pause for Paws sessions hosted in part by Molly Mulligan, who works in Collections Management at the library and periodically helps to bring the K9 to 5 pups to campus.
A third Paws for Paws event will take place at the Kraemer Family Library on Monday, Dec. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
