Crews from Mel-Ro Construction continue to make progress on the Spine Road that will connect the west and central areas of campus. Photos from the construction site were taken June 20, 2019.
The Spine Road is jointly funded by UCCS and the City of Colorado Springs through the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority. The road will allow campus traffic to move between the two areas of campus, alleviating traffic on Austin Bluffs Parkway and North Nevada Avenue. The 3,150 feet of new road will also allow a safer route for pedestrians and cyclists to move on campus. Campus shuttles are expected to run on faster timelines with the new road.
