Winkelbauer accepts new position

Brian Winkelbauer, vice president, CU Foundation, announced this week that he will become associate vice president for university advancement at the Colorado School of Mines Foundation effective May 16.

During the search for Winkelbauer’s replacement, questions about fundraising should be directed to the CU Foundation Office, 255-5100.

Wisner award to highlight campus ceremony

The 2011 Campus Awards Ceremony will be at 3:30 p.m. May 3 in Berger Hall, and for the first time will feature the Ron Wisner Human Spirit and Leadership Award.

UCCS offers new English as a Second Language services

UCCS will offer an intensive English program for students and community members this summer.

The Office of Global Programs within the College of Education recently developed a new service for international students and non-native English speakers who are interested in improving their English speaking, writing and listening skills. (More)

Proposed bill adds research to UCCS mission

A bill recently introduced in the Colorado General Assembly would formally add research to the UCCS role and mission.

On March 25, Senate Bill 11-204 was introduced by Sen. John Morse, D-Colorado Springs, and Angela Giron, D-Pueblo. Morse and Giron are the bill’s sponsors in the Senate. (More)
