The events are open to the public, a $10 donation is suggested.

The first half of the concert will include works from Bentley Pollick’s multimedia presentation “Violin, Viola & Video Virtuosity” by composers Jeffrey Harrington, Charles Norman Mason and Ofer Ben-Amots. The second half includes “Equipoise”(breath in repose), a premiere from composer Glen Whitehead, Associate Professor, UCCS Department of Visual and Performing Arts; Alaskan composer Matthew Burtner’s “The Golden Sparrow” for off-stage trumpet, container of light and electronics; Elliott Carter’s “Shard” for solo guitar; and a masterwork of impressionism, Claude Debussy’s “Sonata for Flute, Viola and Harp” (arr. guitar).

Three UCCS faculty members will also perform. They are Whitehead, trumpet; Jane Rigler, senior instructor, Department of Visual and Performing Arts, flute; and Colin McAllister, music program coordinator, Department of Visual and Performing Arts, guitar.

The current GOCA121 exhibit, “Ceramica: Contemporary Clay.” will act as a visually stimulating backdrop for the music. This exhibit features an installation highlighting five regional artists.
