Viral video star and author Zach Wahls will speak at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at Café 65 in honor of National Coming Out Day.
Whals will speak about his experience being raised by two lesbian mothers and about addressing the Iowa House Judiciary Committee in opposition to constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage in Iowa.
Wahls became famous after a video of his testimony was posted on YouTube and gained more than 2 million views in the first week and became the most-watched political video for 2011.
In April 2012, Wahls published his first book “My Two Moms: Lessons of Love, Strength, and What Makes a Family.”
