The University of Colorado community, particularly the CU Anschutz Medical Campus community, extends its deepest condolences to the victims, family and friends affected by today’s tragic shooting. The expertise and professionalism of the doctors, nurses, other health care professionals and counseling professionals at the University of Colorado Hospital has been exceptional. We appreciate the work of all those throughout the campus who responded to the tragedy.
The university is cooperating fully with law enforcement as they continue their investigation. The alleged gunman, James Holmes, was a graduate student studying neurosciences on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. He was admitted in June 2011, but left the program in June 2012. The university has taken appropriate security measures to address the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, patients and visitors.

I feel sorry for the families who lost their kids to this guy, and I feel sorry for the parents who who had so much hope on their son and probably proud before this to say he was a brilliant student with a broad future who wasted in matter of minutes. I do not know how the life of his parents has change but one thing is for sure all the people involve in this are change forever some more than others and the sad thing is they have no clue what the motivations were for him to do this. Someone with such a brilliant career ahead end up in jail; what push a person so intelligent to do a heinous crime, is it drugs? stress? depression? or simple the desire to cause pain?, anger?, but none of the people involve deserve it, nor the parents or the victims. God bless every one of them and hope they can find peace eventually.
