Students, faculty and staff celebrated improvements to the University Center’s first floor Wednesday afternoon with balloons, dancing and carnival games including bean bag tosses and cake walks.
The frivolity came as an improved UC entrance officially opened, welcoming visitors to a freshened first floor that boasts a new information desk, newly painted walls, new carpet and improved signs. The $250,000 project was scheduled for completion in late August but was delayed when crews discovered utility lines where a foundation for a 35-foot glass and metal tower was planned.
