Cops and donuts go together like, well, macaroni and cheese or peanut butter and jelly,
Jim Spice, executive director, Department of Public Safety, wants to be sure that the words campus and cops go together just as naturally.
The department will host its annual Cops, Donut and Coffee event beginning at 7 a.m. Oct. 12 in University Center 303 to introduce new officers and to give the campus community a chance to meet the folks whose job it is to keep campus safe.
“A campus police department is only as strong as the community around it,” Spice said. “We depend on faculty and staff to be our eyes and ears. This event – our tenth – is a way of introducing our new officers as well as our dispatchers who are usually only known as the calming voice on the end of the phone.”
