  2. Here’s to Mac – one of the kindest and most friendly and outgoing people one will ever meet. He was a predominant figure on this campus and will be sorely missed both as a friend and co-worker. My sympathies go out to his family and may they always know that he will be remembered for his carefree attitude and hardworking work ethic. God bless you Mac McDade!

  11. I was honored to work for Mac for a brief time. He was always smiling and he would always make me laugh. You will never find a more genuine, generous person than good ole Mac. I miss you Mac, God Bless.

  12. Mac will be missed. He was great with students, staff and faculty and was always willing to go the extra mile to take care of any task that needed doing. I met Mac when he first came to UCCS. I saw the First Sergeant decal on his truck (he was a retired senior non-commissioned officer) and from our first meeting I called him “Top”….that is Army talk for the First Sergeant. A First Sergeant is the one who has the responsibility of ensuring that a military unit is effective. Mac brought those leadership traits to UCCS. I can imagine that he is in heaven, making sure the angels are in marching in step and taking care of all the duties that must be accomplished up there. We were lucky to have “Top” for so many years…. and I will miss him.

  13. Sad to hear this sad news. We had not seen Mac for some time since we left the school but everytime we saw him around campus it brought a smile to your face.
UCCS will not be the same without Mac. We will miss you friend.

  14. First of all, let me give my condolence to the family of Monroe “Mac” McDade. I am just finding out tonight after doing a phone number search on him. I first met Mac as my 1SG in the military in 1986 at Ft. Sill, OK. Mac and I had shared a great relationship since then. I retired in 2005 and left Colorado in 2007. He and I talked on a regular basis, and he would often stop by my house when I was there. My heart is heavy knowing someone that I can truly call a “friend” has gone home to be with his Heavenly Father. In closing, my prayers go out to the family.
