Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak will appoint a group of faculty and staff members to review support for Clyde, a rescued mountain lion, who serves as mascot for campus athletic teams and campus spirit events.
In August, the group will meet with Shockley-Zalabak and Julie Walker, operations director, Serenity Springs Wildlife Center, Calhan, to discuss campus support for Clyde including stimulating student interest in visiting Serenity Springs and appropriate ways for Clyde to interact with the campus community.
The group will include Carole Dass, instructor, Visual and Performing Arts; Tamara Moore, director, Auxiliary Services Marketing; and Mitch Karstens, coordinator, Office of Student Activities. A representative from student government and an additional faculty member will be added to the group later this summer.
