Jeff Davis, the retired executive director of Auxiliary Facilities, received the Silver Torch Award for his work at the regional and national level for the National Association of College Auxiliary Services. He received the award during the 2018 Annual Conference and Expo in Orlando.
“As I accept the Silver Torch Award, I want to thank Susan Szpyrka (retired senior vice chancellor of administration and finance), all of the staff in the Auxiliary Operations department, the members of the NACAS West regional board, the members of the 2010 national conference program committee and my wife for all of the support they provided to me over the years,” Davis said. “Without their support, I would not have been able to participate/support NACAS over the years; it is the connections and networking with each of you that allows each of us to continue to meet the needs of our campuses.”
Davis retired from UCCS in July 2018 after nearly 30 years on campus. He started in 1990 and worked his way to director of the University Center in 2002. In 2011, he moved into auxiliary operations as executive director. Davis added project management responsibilities in 2017.
The Silver Torch honors employees at NACAS member institutions who retires during the conference year, served the profession for 10 or more years and has served the organization on the regional or national level.
