In Memory: Ann V. McCready

Ann McCready, a staff member from 1967 until her retirement as a program assistant in the College of Engineering and Applied Science in 2000, died March 29 at her home in Black Forest. She was 88 years old.

Her obituary, as published in the Colorado Springs Gazette April 3, follows:

 

Ann V. McCready

Ann was born January 13, 1923 in Trinidad, Colorado to Emilio and Isabelle (Muniz) Vigil. She died March 29, 2011 at home in Black Forest. Ann worked for many years at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs as an administrative assistant. She worked in several departments including the Art Gallery and the Computer Science Department. She loved working at UCCS and treasured memories of her time there. She began working later in life and continued working full time until she was 78 years old. Ann loved to travel and visited many places in her life, including Casablanca, Paris and Holland. She was preceded in death by her husband Mac and brother Raymond. She is survived by daughters Patricia and Kim; son-in-law Mark; good friend and companion Tacy; and sisters Virginia, Olive and Connie. At her request, no services are planned. Memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region. She will be missed.
