Faculty and staff have three upcoming opportunities for free or low-cost flu vaccinations.
From 9:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 19 in University Center 303, faculty and staff who are CU Health Plan Members (Anthem or Kaiser) can receive a free flu shot. Covered spouses are also eligible. Faculty and staff who are not CU Health Plan members can pay $28 and receive a shot. No registration required. The clinic is provided by Kaiser Permanente.
From 1:30 to 4 p.m. Oct 23 in University 303, there will be another opportunity for free flue shots for CU Health Plan members or $28 for non-members in a second no registration clinic provided by Kaiser Permanente.
Faculty, staff and students can also receive flu vaccinations at Wellness Center from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning Sept. 25. The vaccinations cost $20. No appointment is necessary.
According to Employee Services, about 20 percent of the U.S. population gets the flu every year which results in missed work and classes.
