Four UCCS faculty or staff members recently received University of Colorado Diversity and Excellence grants. The grants were provided by the Office of the President in response to proposals from faculty and staff at the campuses.
Those UCCS proposals receiving funding are:
- Gallery of Contemporary Art Places Lecture Series. The proposal was submitted by Caitlin Green, co-director, Gallery of Contemporary Art.
- Sephardic Memory and Movement: The Spanish Jewish Diaspora and its Cultural and Artistic Contributions to the American Southwest. The proposal was submitted by Roger Martinez, assistant professor, History Department.
- Poetry for the People of UCCS. The proposal was submitted by Kirsten Bartholomew Ortega, assistant professor, English Department.
- The Colorado Coalition of Blacks in Higher Education. The proposal was submitted by Stephanie Spaulding, assistant professor, Women’s and Ethnic Studies Department, and Susan Harvey, Colorado Springs, a community adviser to the UCCS Black Student Union.
