Terry Schwartz, interim provost, Academic Affairs, will facilitate a faculty panel discussing controversial topics in the classroom at an all-campus forum.
“Controversial Topics in the Classroom” is scheduled for at 10 a.m. Feb. 15 in University Center 302 and will feature comments by Anna Kosloski, assistant professor, School of Public Affairs; Dena Samuels, assistant professor, Women’s and Ethic Studies Program; Jeff Scholes, assistant professor, Philosophy Department; and Jennifer George, associate university counsel.
The faculty will discuss controversial topics and strategies used to present the material. George will discuss legal issues in the classroom including recording classroom sessions and intellectual property rights.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend forums to learn about campus activities and to ask questions of general interest. Forum summaries are published in Communique.
