Oct. 20 TIAA seminar will feature the CU 401(a) and 403(b) retirement plans

tiaa-logoTIAA and Employee Services will host a seminar about basics of the CU 401(a) and 403(b) retirement savings plans 11 a.m.-noon Oct. 20 in University Center, Room 122.

Many CU employees contribute 5 percent of their salaries to the CU 401(a) Retirement Plan, and the university matches with a 10 percent contribution. The Oct. 20 lunch-and-learn talk offered an opportunity to learn about the CU 401(a) Retirement Plan, as well as see how to save more with the CU 403(b) Voluntary Retirement Plan.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Differences between the 401(a) and 403(b) retirement plans
  • Available investment options and strategies for maximum reward
  • The variety of CU-offered retirement accounts
  • Contribution limits
  • Risk tolerance
