Brilliant, an art party extravaganza to benefit the UCCS Galleries of Contemporary Art, is scheduled for June 25 at 121 S. Tejon Street in downtown Colorado Springs.
Brilliant combines art, technology, wearable art, performance and music to completely transform GOCA 121 and the Plaza of the Rockies building atrium into a spectacular pop-up experience.
“There is so much creative brilliance in our region,” Daisy McGowan, director, Galleries of Contemporary Art, said. “We are thrilled to elevate and celebrate it with our community.”
A five-course dinner with cocktail pairings by Nosh restaurant begins the evening of artistic celebration that includes a live ramp wearable art performance, gallery installations, a massive inflatable illuminated sculpture, and surprise elements.
The live ramp wearable art show features artists who integrate technology, light and a range of materials at the intersection of sculpture, fashion, dance and performance. Artists include Aaron Graves, Gypsy Ames, Kristin Stransky Mallinger, Su Kaiden Cho, Nicole Banowetz, Jenifer Andrews, Kat and Bob Tudor, Wendy Mike, De Lane Bredvik, Mallori Rouse, Stephanie Bradley, Karen Holloway, Aspen Clark and Alexandra Garcia.
Attendees can also sample Colorado craft beer, spirits and coffee by Lee Spirits Co., Leopold Bros., Axe and the Oak Distillery, Urban Steam and Bristol Brewing.
Brilliant raises financial support for future gallery programs, exhibits and collaborations. Advance tickets are available at www.brilliantgoca.com. Presale tickets for the Brilliant dinner and art party are $99. Tickets for the art party alone are $25. UCCS students with valid I.D. can purchase tickets for $20.
