Five department directors in the Division of Student Success will work directly with Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak while a search is developed for a new vice chancellor for student success and enrollment management.
Shockley-Zalabak announced the management team approach Feb. 1 after conferring with many on campus including Jevita Rogers, director, Office of Student Financial Aid and Student Employment; Steve Linhart, dean, Dean of Student’s Office; Barbara Gaddis, executive director, Student Retention and First-Year Experience Office; Brad Bayer, executive director, Office of Student Life and Leadership; and Mathew Cox, director of enrollment management, Admissions Services. The five-person management team will serve as the interim replacement for Homer Wesley, vice chancellor, Student Success and Enrollment Management.
Wesley announced Jan. 25 that he has accepted a position at Pikes Peak Community College. His last day at UCCS will be Feb. 12.
“I have great confidence in Barbara, Steve, Jevita, Brad and Mathew to work together, and with me, to ensure that student needs are met,” Shockley-Zalabak said. “The student success directors selected this team approach based on their previous experiences when the university searched for a vice chancellor to lead the division.”
Tina Collins, executive assistant, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Success and Enrollment Management, will serve as a liaison and will field inquiries from students, faculty or staff members and direct them to the appropriate manager. Collins can be reached at 255-3582 or [email protected].
