“It has been 10 years since UCCS solidified its commitment to sustainability,” Linda Kogan, director, Office of Sustainability, said. “We were tasked to work with the campus community to reduce the ecological footprint of the campus and address social, environmental, and economic sustainability. We have lots to celebrate.”

Kogan plans to share the office’s progress to three full-time staff, ten part-time student staff and more than 50 regular volunteers as well as campus accomplishments including construction of seven Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified buildings, gold-level recognition in a Sustainability Tracking Assessment and Rating System, a climate action plan to reduce greenhouse emissions, two strategic plans, a student fee-based Green Action Fund and many successful educational events.
