The Student Success Center recently changed its name as part of a new focus.
Now Academic Advising, the new name more accurately reflects the office’s duties, according to Barbara Gaddis, executive director, Office of First Year Experience and Student Retention.
Along with the name change, three staff members recently had interim removed from their titles.
Brett Fugate will serve as director of Academic Advising, while Chris DuVal will serve as director of Degree Audit and Transfer Credit, and Carol Kumm will serve as director of Orientation and New Student Outreach.
The changes come following the transfer of Greg Augspurger, former director of advising and orientation, to the College of Business where he is an instructor.
“We are very excited about these changes,” Gaddis said. “Chris, Carol and Brett bring the experience, enthusiasm and creativity that will help us serve students even better.”
