Thirty-one UCCS-related families will have food on the table and gifts to unwrap this holiday season, thanks to the UCCS Holiday Service Project.
According to Mary Lile, co-chair, Holiday Service Project committee, and accountant, Resource Management DivisionThe annual service project collects donations to be distributed to families in need within the UCCS community. Opportunities to participate ranged from adopting a family in need, to donating food, cash donations and gifts.
Last year, the Holiday Service Project was able to give donations to the families of 30 UCCS students, faculty or staff members.
Toys, bikes, clothes and canned food lined the Department of Public Safety training room where families will pick up their donations on Dec. 12.
