An Oct. 30 book signing at the Kraemer Family Library began the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of UCCS.
Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak hosted the signing party for “Discovering Place – A UCCS Field Guide” and introduced co-editors Tom Huber, professor, and Carole Huber, senior instructor, Department of Geography and Environmental Studies.
The Hubers and many of the more than 30 contributors to the book were on hand to sign copies of the book on sale for $19.65 in commemoration of the year UCCS was founded.
In addition to faculty and staff, three longtime Cragmor Village residents attended the celebration and shared stories of attending Cragmor Extension, as the campus was initially known, and watching it develop. They were Sue Ingraham Dietrich, BJ McCauley and Joanne “Jo” Clark. Each was invited to participate in the library’s oral history project.
