Faculty and staff are encouraged to use alternatives to the Meadow Lane campus entrance Aug. 14-16.
Contractors working on the Austin Bluffs Parkway widening project will mill asphalt at the intersection on Aug. 14 and place new asphalt on Aug. 16, according to Gary Reynolds, assistant vice chancellor for administration. The intersection will remain open Aug. 14 and 15 but will likely be slow-moving as a result of the work and heavy equipment presence. The intersection will be closed Aug. 16.
“We have been working closely with the contractor to complete this work before the start of classes and a substantial increase in traffic,” Reynolds said. “I recognize that closing the intersection on the 16th will be an inconvenience, so we are asking for your patience and recommend using either the Regent Circle or Mountain Lion Way entrances to campus.”
Additionally, Lawrence Construction, the contractor for the Austin Bluffs widening project, announced the following activities that are likely to affect the campus community.
