The UCCS Alumni and Friends Association will offer webinars to help current students find a first job or alums transition to a new one.

Jennifer Hane, director, Alumni Relations, recently developed a partnership with TalentMarks, a national organization that offers webinars on career-related topics from recognized authors and experts. Topics range from resumé and interviewing skills to using social media platforms.

One webinar series is Backpack to Briefcase, a program designed for young alumni, focusing on the job skills many employers believe recent graduates are lacking. Topics include communication, initiative, problem solving, leadership, work ethic, interpersonal skills, teamwork, professionalism, and more.

For seasoned professionals, Briefcase to Boardroom will provide guidance on topics including the role of trust in the workplace, personal branding and marketing, and managing career paths.

The programs are free to UCCS alumni and students and can be watched live or on-demand as recorded presentations.

“We hope that in addition to the resources at the UCCS Career Center, current students will utilize our webinars as they prepare to graduate and enter the workforce or take the next steps in their professional careers,” Hane said.
