Alexander Goldman, 23, of Redding, Conn., a UCCS senior passed away June 7 at an apartment in Boulder following an accident. Memorial services are scheduled for 11 a.m. June 13 at Temple B’nai Chaim, Georgetown, Conn., with burial following at the Umpawaug Cemetery, Redding.
Alex was a graduate of Joel Barrow High School, Redding, a senior communication major at UCCS, and participated in Spring Commencement.
In a June 12 email to faculty, staff and student email lists, Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak encouraged the campus community to join her in offering condolences to Goldman’s family and friends.

Alex Goldman
Alex Goldman, son of Redding residents Irve and Susan Goldman, died on June 7 in Boulder, Colo.
Mr. Goldman was a 2008 graduate of Joel Barlow High School and 2014 graduate of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in communications.
Born on June 9, 1990 in Bridgeport, he also leaves behind a brother and sister, Daniel, aged 21, and Jillian, aged 18. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Alan and Ann Harriet Goldman and William and Mary Lacy, an uncle, Richard Lacy and a cousin, David Lacy.
“Forever in the hearts of his family and many close friends, Alex will be remembered for his boundless energy, his love of skiing, hiking and mountain biking, and his passion for music, especially the guitar,” his family said. ”But greater than that was his charisma, his ability to connect with people, the strength of his character, his intelligence and his wit. And greater still was his capacity to love and be loved — in his all too few years among us, Alex experienced as much love as one could hope for in a lifetime.”
A service will be held on Friday, June 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Temple B’nai Chaim in Georgetown, Burial will follow at the Umpawaug Cemetary in Redding.
