Former Facebook executive and author Randi Zuckerberg examined the pros and cons of social media and how technology impacts society during a April 15 lecture at the Gallogly Events Center.

Zuckerberg, sister of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, shared her experiences as the social media company’s director of market development and the challenges she faced, ranging from when to turn off the phone and unplug to hosting President Barack Obama in the first “Facebook Live” townhall meeting. She also explored trends in social media.

Following the lecture, Zuckerberg took questions from audience members before moving to Dwire Hall for a book signing.

The event was co-sponsored by the Office of Student Activities and the Department of Residential Life and Housing.
