National Nurse’s Week is approaching on May 6-12, 2023. The UCCS Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences would like to call out and honor the incredible nursing students who all recently received an award, nomination or appointment.
Recently, four Johnson Beth-El students received awards from the Friends of Nursing. Congratulations to:
- Christine Cabalic – Greta Pollard, Founder’s Scholarship
- Melanie Senter – Friends of Nursing/Leila B. Kinney Scholarship
- Melanie Walker – Friends of Nursing Scholarship
- Shantel Moore – Fern Howard Award
Shantel Moore and Melanie Senter are in the accelerated cohort. Melanie Walker and Christine Cabalic are graduate students in the Master of Science in Nursing. They were all honored at a spring luncheon this month.
Chellis Richards, BSNA president, recently received a nomination for the 2023 Ron Wisner Human Spirit and Leadership Award.
Emma Kate Bonner, BSNA merchandise director, was formally accepted into the NSNA Leadership University Honor Society.
Johnson Beth-El is a pillar of nursing excellence in the Colorado Springs community, and our students often reflect the same values of leadership and distinction.
