Lauren & Josh
“We had a a class together our sophomore year, Innovation 1000. We actually just got engaged a few days ago on UCCS’ campus on 2/5/23!”
Philippe & Cheya
Philippe and Cheya met in 2008 at a Black Student Union (BSU) meeting in the University Center. They became friends and began spending time together in the library, Rec Center and coffee shops across campus before officially dating. Philippe proposed by sending Cheya on a scavenger hunt across campus. They have been married for almost 8 years and have a 2 year old daughter and a 7 month old son. Cheya worked at UCCS for 11 years in the UCCS Office of Admissions before becoming a stay at home mom and Philippe works as an implementation engineer for a cell phone company.
Bethany & Joseph
“Joe and I actually met on campus at the UCCS Navigators ministry. He used to work the tech booth and was a funny and lovable introvert, I heard all kinds of hilarious stories about him through the grapevine. Being rather shy at the time, I was unsure how to approach him while in the process of transferring to UCCS. But we ended up reconnecting after he graduated and asked me to coffee in 2020. We really enjoyed spending time with one another and got married in September of 2021. Been together for almost three years now, every day with him is a gift! Joe works as a computer engineer for a local contractor in Colorado Springs, fulfilling his nerdy yet awesome passions. I am a full-time student in my senior year of the IECE Program and also work as an assistant teacher at the UCCS Family Development Center.”
Lola & Tobias
“We met in 2020 on our online psychology course! I spotted him out when he turned his camera on and stalked him on social media! Eventually got his number and asked him to study at a coffee shop before our first exam even though I had all of the content already memorized. We’ve been together for two and a half years and going strong! Many think we met in the gym, as he is a powerlifter and I am an olympic weightlifter, but we are proud to say we met in our online class of 2020 at UCCS! We’re both finishing out our degrees in psychology and are excited for the future!”
Ariana & David
“We met at a soccer party and then connected the next day at the Rec Center! It was love at first sight and we have been together ever since. We have been happily married since 2019! We live in Denver and David is commissioning in the Navy, while I work as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Athletic Director at St. Mary’s Academy.”
Morgan & Nicholas
“Nick and I met the end of our junior year. We were getting assigned our placement schools for student teaching. We got assigned to the same school. After we met with our site professors, he came up to me and said, “Hi I’m Nick. I need your phone number.” I gave him my number, knowing that we were going to be teaching together. I ended up teaching kinder and he taught 4th for our student teaching. We got to know each other throughout the year. Come graduation night I told him how I felt. He respectfully declined as he just got out of a relationship and wanted some time to work on himself. We ended up becoming best friends and spent the entire summer together. We started dating in August 2015. Nick and I got engaged and eloped on the beach in 2018! Nick joined the Air Force and that has since taken us to Florida where we are currently stationed. We have a dog, Winston, and we welcomed our first child in September 2021.”
Viktoria & Gabriel
Met in Film Directing class in 2012. Viktoria was so impressed by how smart and talented Gabriel was, but it wasn’t the right time for either of them. They kept in touch and reconnected in 2019, and got married in 2021. Viktoria and Gabriel are raising their three-year-old son Leo in Colorado Springs. Viktoria works at Sixty35 Media in Colorado Springs, and Gabriel continues to be creative in his own ways.
Emma & Rob
“Rob and I met in 2016 when we had a marketing and a computer science class together. He came to class one day with a bag of chocolate covered espresso beans with a note inside that said “Coffee date Sunday?” Seven years later, we have married and welcomed our first baby, Oliver, on July 4th, 2022! Rob works at a CPA firm in downtown Colorado Springs. I have been staying home with our baby and dog, Aspen, while also taking care of a few dogs for first responders and medical professionals as well as teaching yoga.”
Lauren & Danny
“We met through a roommate who introduced us to each other at the Lodge a few days into the start of the 2022 school year. We are still happily together and we plan on moving in together and start a life together after college.”
