Faculty, staff enjoy newest addition to campus

Lane Center 029More than 300 campus and greater Colorado Springs community members toured the Lane Center for Academic Health Sciences Feb. 22 as part of an open house event.

The event featured directors of new UCCS HealthCircle clinics and existing UCCS programs relocated to the Lane Center explaining the functions of the clinics and how they relate to university research and teaching.

University faculty and staff can now use the clinics associated with the HealthCircle. The clinics include a primary care clinic, the Peak Nutrition Clinic, the Center for Active Living, the Aging Center and the Veterans Health and Trauma Clinic. The clinics feature a collaborative approach that many believe is the future of healthcare. For UCCS faculty, staff and their families, the clinics will care for adolescents and adults, ages 12 to 60.

For more information about the clinics or to schedule an appointment, call 255-4401. Faculty, staff and dependents can call the Primary Care Clinic directly at 255-8001 to schedule an appointment.

The Lane Center also houses a Peak Vista Community Health Centers senior clinic and a branch of the CU School of Medicine for third and fourth year medical students. The first medical students arrive in 2016.
