New booster club to benefit basketball teams

As part of the new Mountain Lion Athletic Association, and in an effort to build scholarships for members of men’s and women’s Mountain Lion basketball teams, a new booster club was recently formed for UCCS faculty and staff.

Members of the booster club will have special seats at home basketball games or may sit on the bench with the coach and teams. Additionally, club members can purchase booster-specific items from the UCCS Bookstore and attend VIP receptions, according to Stephanie Hanenberg, director, Student Health Center, and a founding booster club member.

Membership in the booster club is $120 annually with payroll deduction available for faculty and staff members. All proceeds will be used to create scholarships for student-athletes who participate in men’s and women’s intercollegiate basketball.
