They provide testing often working outside of the normal testing times to accommodate the students that need testing. They not only provide campus contact tracing that was tasked to them by the El Paso County Public Health, but they work tireless every day to answer the many questions and concerns that we receive from students, faculty, and staff. They work together as an incredible team and we want them to know they are appreciated for their hard work and dedication.

Individuals

To: Andy Johnston
From: Billie Jo Baptiste & the Wellness Center team

Andy has been working tirelessly to help our department with new employees and amendments for current employees. We have had many questions and he has been so patient and helpful. He has been going above and beyond to help our department and we appreciate his knowledge and guidance.

To: Anna Squires
From: Alumni Relations and Annual Giving Office

You helped UCCS celebrate the Silver Graduates at this December’s Commencement with a wonderful Communique feature story. We love sharing that Communique link with our audiences, to help highlight the great stories of our alumni. Thank you!

To: Chad Garland
From: Anon.

Thank you to Chad and his team members who helped out my team and me by offering to receive and deliver COVID test kits to all our departments! It made things so much easier on our end, and we appreciate it very much! Thanks for being great colleagues!

To: Charlie Kuehler
From: Anon.

Charlie is always very willing to help out in any way he can. Whether it be a budget question, helping us through HR processes, and more, he goes above and beyond to make sure that everyone in our division is taken care of and treated well.

To: Daniel Metzger & Michael Moody
From: Ann Amicucci

Thank you to Daniel and Michael for handling so many Registrar requests from the English Department! I am grateful to you both for your help in the lead-up to the spring semester.

To: Debi O’Connor
From: Anon.

I would like to recognize Debi O’Connor for going above and beyond the call of duty. She is such a huge asset to this university. I know my department, as well as others would be lost without her help and guidance. She is always prompt to respond, provide a policy or regulation related to a question, or just simply pull together a group of key stakeholders to have a discussion. There have been occasions when I have felt like there are no other options and when I call her, she always has a level head and is happy to talk through different scenarios and outcomes.

To: Debi O’Connor
From: Anon.

Debi O’Connor has never failed to bring a positive outlook to every meeting and discussion. As a compliance officer, her job is challenging because it often entails being rather confrontational about some sensitive subjects, but Debi has a skill set that allows her to deliver that sort of information painlessly and without judgment. She likely underestimates her own ability to brighten everyone’s day, even when the complications of the pandemic are weighing heavy on all of us. Debi has made us want to be more positive in our own jobs. I vote her most positive person on staff and consider her one of our most valuable staff members for that reason. A huge thank you to Debi for her hard work and dedication. She goes above and beyond to make our lives a little easier.

To: Eric Bedford
From: Housing Ops Staff

We want to recognize Eric for going above and beyond to help one of our students to fix his motorized wheelchair, and doing it so quickly! We know that the work orders this month have been hectic and want to recognize you for your hard work and commitment to our on-campus students. We appreciate everything you do!

To: Eric Nissen
From: Alumni Relations and Annual Giving Office

A belated Clyde’s Kudo and thank you for keeping alumni and friend electronic communications humming along without missing a beat last fall when a team member was out.

To: Jacob Guilez
From: Alumni Relations and Annual Giving Office

Thank you for sharing the stories of UCCS Silver Graduates in December on social media. Your work helps highlight amazing UCCS alumni who graduated 25 years ago and were celebrated at Commencement.

To: Jenna Press
From: Jacob Guilez & Anna Squires

A huge Kudos to Jenna for celebrating her first month at UCCS as our new Assistant Director of Communications/PR superstar! We are so excited to have you on the team as our fearless leader and collaborator. Bright days are ahead! Welcome to the Mountain Lion Family!

To: Jevita Rogers
From: Jesse Perez

Jevita is an amazing advocate for students! She is always willing to go above and beyond to help a student and their family feel like they matter.

To: Margie Oldham
From: Deann Barrett

Margie has stepped in to cover a gap in the LAS Dean’s Office. She has put other things aside to do this, and has covered office hours and other duties when nobody else could. The office and the Dean’s calendar would not have run smoothly had she not jumped in and took it over. This was a huge sacrifice on her part, and she deserved the recognition and thanks!

To: Mark Paquette
From: Anon.

Mark has gone above and beyond to provide a seamless onboarding experience for a new employee. He thought of every detail during the training process and continues to provide encouragement. Mark opens doors for students who need additional supports, providing them with opportunities that are often career changing. While modeling professionalism for those with whom he works he is respected and appreciated as a member of the External Relations team.

To: Nan Kerr
From: Jevita Rogers

Nan is forever going above and beyond to assist above and beyond normal course of duties. She has helped support me in a search I was chairing and scheduling interviews to help me during my busy times. She always has a smile on her face and that alone makes her such a great asset to UCCS

To: Sally Greene
From: Laura Chandler

My staff colleague and friend, Sally Greene, is amazing! Can I tell you how much she rocks?! Last minute textbook issues — you name it — she is always on it. If you know her, you know she does her magic in the Bookstore. Thank you, Sally. I appreciate you!

To: Season Doebler
From: Kimberly Guyer & Ellen Burkart

Season Doebler: Thank you for going above and beyond to prioritize phone outreach to non-enrolled students to check in with them and to answer any questions that they may have had. Your support, care, and compassion for our students is appreciated and makes a difference. THANK YOU.
